Meet Dr. Sarah Wolff

I’m here to help create your brand of special sauce and assist your team in delivering it to each and every client.

With over two decades of experience in the veterinary field, I have worked extensively in support, veterinary, and management positions. I’m obsessed with how teams come together to care for not just pets, but for their people, too.

Through consulting and public speaking, I help practice leaders introduce tailored, supportive client care systems that enhance not only the client experience, but create more fulfilling workplaces, too.

There’s no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to be a veterinary practice. Rather, there are approaches that do or don’t align with your strengths and goals. My role is to find opportunities for your team to delight clients because of your practice’s unique qualities, and to support you in creating sustainable systems to ensure every client appreciates your care.

My Core Values

These are the guiding principles I bring to each project and collaborative effort.

  • I believe in the power of optimism and empowerment, and I am dedicated to acknowledging and uplifting every person and organization I engage with.

  • I bring my whole self to my work. I believe that by embracing our individuality, we open the door to remarkable accomplishments, and each of us deserves to thrive because of who we are. I endeavor to assist those I collaborate with in finding joy in wholeheartedly celebrating their own identities.

  • Perfection may be an unattainable goal, but the pursuit of excellence—achieved through iteration, education, and evaluation—is the best path for both my personal growth and the organizations I engage with.

  • I am dedicated to honest discourse and am willing to embrace the discomfort that comes with communicating from a growth-oriented perspective. I opt for kindness and generosity as the channels through which I convey my honest thoughts.

How did I go from veterinarian to consultant?

I started down the veterinary road because I loved James Herriot as a kid (I know, I know!). Through high school and college I was lucky to work in some fantastic hospitals, showing me just how good our field can be, and convincing me to pursue vet school.

Fast forward to my baby-vet years in NYC, where I learned that not all practices are created equal, and that we have a long way to go as a profession to reach our full potential. Ultimately, I found my path in hospitals looking to improve not only the medicine they provided, but the quality of their client service, too.

To my surprise, one of the most common results of stepping up service for clients was a dramatic improvement in team satisfaction.

I’ve always admired the incredible humans who spend their lives in veterinary medicine, and seeing how much we could improve their day-to-day experience was a lightbulb moment:

What if veterinary medicine could be better for not just patients and clients, but for us, too?!

So now, I spend my professional time divided between clinical practice (I hope I never completely stop practicing — it’s such a magical job!) and helping veterinary teams lean in to their super powers, creating client experiences that improve relationships and provide fulfilling careers. Hopefully I can help you, too!
